This is us! Christopher and Serenity. Two Aussies living in Speyside, the heart of whisky country in Scotland.
Slate Road Design was born out of us making a big life change back in 2016. We sold our house, left our corporate careers and hit the road. Christopher had been working in the whisky industry for many years and Serenity’s background is advertising and media.
We left Australia and traveled through America before landing in the UK. We built a camper van and have been traveling Europe in the Winter months and working at whisky distilleries as guides for the summer seasons. Whisky is a huge passion of ours and we love that we remain connected to the industry through our little business!
With what the world has been through, like many, we were forced to make some decisions. We rolled up our sleeves and decided in September 2020 to officially launch Slate Road Design and work on it full time. Everything you see in our shop is 100% hand made by us in our little workshop. We source the oak from Speyside Cooperage where all the distilleries in the region and beyond send their casks for repair.
As much as possible we use recycled, up-cycled and eco friendly products in our work.
